About Us

We have been involved in the book business since 1970, working for booksellers in Boston and New York and for such chains as Paperback Booksmith, Barnes & Noble, and Rizzoli. Kaarin went on to create the Whitney Museum's Store Next Door in New York City and Hardware at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, Massachusetts, while Bob became a Director of Publicity for Rizzoli International Publications and now runs an illustrated book publicity company in Chatham, New York. Throughout our careers in books and art, we continued to collect and sell books at book shows, group shops and on line, always with the intention of operating a retail shop.

Berkshire Books stocks carefully selected used, rare and out-of-print books and CDs. Categories include Modern First Editions, Cooking, Art, Sports (especially Baseball), Gardening & Nature, Essays, Poetry, and collectible Children's books. We can assist in building collections, and we offer a free search service. We actively buy books—from a single copy to a complete library.

We look forward to meeting you Thursday-Saturday 11-5, and Sunday 11-4, and by appointment or by chance. If you are in town, look for our green and white BOOKS flag or feel free to call us at 518-392-2052.

See you soon,

Bob & Kaarin Lemstrom-Sheedy
